You and your general practice
What you can expect from us, and what we ask of you.
NHS England asks every practice to publish this charter. It sets out what you can expect from us.
What you can expect from us
We will treat you with respect and courtesy.
We will not turn you away or ask you to call back another day. When you contact us, we will assess your request and tell you what happens next.
We will tell you who you will see and when.
We will keep your information confidential.
We will explain your treatment in a way you understand.
You can ask to see your medical record at any time.
How we decide who you see
When you contact us, we look at the information you give us. We then decide the most suitable person for you to see, and when they are available.
That may be a doctor, a nurse, a pharmacist, or another healthcare professional.
This is not about turning you away. It is about getting you to the right person faster.
What we ask of you
Please tell us if you cannot make an appointment. Someone else can then use it.
Please give us as much detail as you can when you contact us. It helps us book you correctly.
Please treat our staff with respect. We will not accept abuse of any kind.
Please keep your contact details up to date.
If you are unhappy
Tell us. Our complaints page explains how.
